Find a Friend

Anyone else feeling the frantic crunch of hurried and hectic this time of year? With holiday preparations and endless to-do lists, it’s nearly impossible to get everything done. There simply aren’t enough hours in the day! How can you make self-care and wellness a priority when you feel pulled in every direction?

Three simple words:

Find a friend.

Find a friend that loves you unconditionally and will listen without judgment.

Find a friend who will stop in the middle of their day to text you back with a smile.

Find a friend who understands the importance of time, yet makes space for you even in the midst of their own chaos and craziness.

Find a friend who is spontaneous enough to meet you on a weeknight, just for a hug and a hello.

Find a friend who laughs with you.

Prays with you.

Shares in the highs and lows.

Find a friend who celebrates your wins with joy and exuberance and openly shares their wins, too.

Find a friend who reminds you of the good in the world and encourages you to do the same.

Find a friend who remembers stories from long ago and knows which ones instantly brighten your darkest days.

Find a friend who isn’t embarrassed to act silly with you, whether it’s singing an off-key tune with made-up words or wearing holiday headbands that jingle as you walk.

Find a friend who appreciates joy and will explore a festival of lights, just to see the look of childlike wonder shining in your eyes.

Find a friend.

If you can’t find a friend who can do these things, perhaps there is a reason,

To be this type of friend for someone else, no matter the season.
